The Dutch manager took the blame for the Red Devils' poor form, since he has not been able to provide them a reliable system.

Manchester United's boss Louis Van Gaal admitted it has not been easy coaching the historic Red Devils. Even with all his experience, the Dutch manager is not having the best of seasons with his multi-talented cast, starting with the fact that he doesn't know which players could be considered as full-time starters.

"No, I don't think so, and that's also the difficulty of this system. I have played five or six systems and I'm still looking for the balance, e have to do it now and normally you have to do it in pre-season. But results and the defensive organisation are not bad and we're scoring lots of goals," the Dutch boss stated earlier.

Van Gaal has been harshly criticized by fans, media, colleagues like Sam Allardyce, and former Man United player Paul Scholes, who recently stated that the team's form under Van Gaal has been "miserable".

Facing League One side Preston on Monday, the former Netherlands skipper reflected on how difficult this match will be, although they have to improve from their latest performance against Burnley.

"Everything is against you because everybody is for the underdog. The chance you can survive is higher because you are playing against lower quality but you have to beat a team with big motivation. We have another match to show that we are still in our process and positive," Van Gaal added.

Daley Blind and Phil Jones will most likely miss Monday's game against Preston due to injuries, while Robin Van Persie's presence is doubtful since he is recovering from a blow suffered on Wednesday against Burnley.
