It has been a while since we have seen the best out of Cristiano Ronaldo with Real Madrid. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse after his two-game suspension, a loss against Atletico and his birthday party proved us wrong.
Ronaldo now wants to get back on the path that made him the Ballon d’Or winner. CR7 would like to get the trust he had from fans and teammates he had not too long ago. His latest apology is a good start in the process of making things right.
While criticism towards the Portuguese star has grown on social media, it is his closest friends who have Ronaldo’s back. In his team, it is fellow countrymen Pepe and Coentrao, along with Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas who stand by CR7. Outside Madrid, Irina Shayk, wants the best for his ex-boyfriend moving forward.
Ever since the footballer split up with the Russian model, his efficiency has dropped noticeably. Two games have gone by and Ronaldo has not scored when his team really needs him. In his latest game against Atletico, CR7 just connected on 71 percent of his passes and had just one shot at the goal.
After delivering an apology for his actions, the next step is redemption. That could come as soon as Real Madrid’s next game at home against Deportivo la Coruña on Saturday.
Ronaldo has not scored since January 18 when playing against Getafe
