The striker was suspended three games after a stamp. Jose Mourinho believed Costa will hardly get in trouble again

Diego Costa wants to make it very clear that he is not a bad boy. The Spain international is served a three-game suspension after stamping Liverpool’s Emre Can.

Chelsea’s coach, Jose Mourinho, prides himself on really knowing his players. He has told media that what Costa did the other day at Anfield is something he might have done outside of character.

"My challenges are strong but noble at the same time," Costa said, admitting that he’s had to adapt to a more physical game during his time at the E.P.L.

This season, the 26-year-old striker has shown he is worth every cent of his £32m contract. The former Atletico figure has scored 17 goals this season, helping Chelsea claim the current lead of the tournament.

"I consider myself a player who fights and gives everything on the pitch. Those who know me and appreciate those values understand what I say," was the way Costa described himself.

Jose Mourinho has the back of one of his newest players despite media criticism. The Special One believes it was only an accident. Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini hopes the Brazil-born Spaniard learns from his mistake.

Costa left Atletico after two seasons with the Colchoneros, and is rolling with the punches in his new adventure.  While many things around him changed, he hopes to continue learning from the transition process.

"In England, the referees don't call many fouls, as opposed to Spanish football. Consequently, you must be really strong all through the 90 minutes," Costa ended.
