As the home of soccer in Canada and the official broadcaster of Major League Soccer (MLS), TSN today announced its package of national MLS games that kicks off with the all-Canadian season opener featuring Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Toronto FC on Saturday, March 7 at 6 p.m. ET on TSN1, TSN3, and TSN4. The game features the MLS debut of former Juventus playmaker Sebastian Giovinco – who has marked 21 caps with the Italian national team – as he joins TFC in a battle against a young Whitecaps FC squad led by recently acquired striker Octavio Rivero and defenders Diego Rodriguez and Pa-Modou Kah.

The MLS ON TSN 64-game broadcast schedule includes at least one Canadian team – Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, or Vancouver Whitecaps FC – in every game and more games than any other network in the country. In total, the MLS ON TSN package includes:

·         All 34 Vancouver Whitecaps FC matches

·         23 Toronto FC matches

·         12 Montreal Impact matches

·         Live streaming of all 64 games on TSN GO

A slate of matches featuring U.S.-based teams will be added to the MLS ON TSN broadcast schedule in the coming weeks.

MLS ON TSN also delivers live Canadian coverage of the MLS CUP PLAYOFFS, MLS CUP 2015, and the 2015 AT&T MLS ALL-STAR GAME from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.

The MLS ON TSN broadcast schedule also features two games from the league’s newly added Decision Day – the final day of the regular season that will see crucial games played simultaneously to decide which teams will make the playoffs. On Sunday, Oct. 25, TSN2 airs a Decision Day doubleheader, with Toronto @ Montreal at 5 p.m. ET followed by Houston @ Vancouver at 7 p.m. ET.

Key Storylines for the 2015 MLS Season (via MLS)

MLS staff broke down 30 reasons to get excited for the upcoming season. Here are the Canadian angles involved (visit MLSsoccer.com for the entire list):

2. BIG NAMES, BIG EXPECTATIONS. Speaking of hype, 2015 is already the year of star power. Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Sebastian Giovinco, Kaka, and Shaun Maloney are just a sampling of the new bold-faced names that will grace MLS fields this year. Let's notforget the American imports, either. Jozy Altidore, Sacha Kljestan, Juan Agudelo and Mix Diskerud are here, too.

11. BLOODY BIG AMENDS. Will Toronto FC put the Bloody Big Deal behind them and make the playoffs for the first time ever? The additionsof Altidore and Giovinco are step one, and the ongoing construction of a solid core will be step two, and arguably just as important. We can't wait to see this beautycome alive at playoff time.

14. GOLD CUP RUNNETH OVER. MLSers will be littered throughout the Gold Cup rosters this summer. But who will take the trophy? The USMNT certainly have to be favorites, as defending champs and impressive World Cup achievers. But maybe Erick 'Cubo' Torres and Mexico will regain the title. Or what about Canada? Could they rekindle the magic of 2007 and make another deep run?

16. THE WHITECAPS' SPEED DEMON. Kekuta Manneh'safter-burners. Is there anything more exciting than when he gets the ball in space? (Sounders fans are shaking their heads right now)

18. THE ADVENTURES OF A FANTASISTA: The Montreal Impact'sIgnacio Piattihas all the tools to be one of the top playmakers in MLS. We think he's going to be a lot of fun to watch this year.

28. IS THIS MLS'S YEAR IN CCL? With D.C. United and the Montreal Impact facing tough quarterfinal matchups, a first MLS win in the CONCACAF Champions Leagueseems unlikely come May. But with just about as strong a delegation as the league can send, LA, Seattle, United, Real Salt Lake and Vancouver can lay the groundwork to make history in the 2015-16 edition.
