Kane may be England's most in-form striker, but for the Liverpool boss, none trump his Daniel Sturridge.

Despite his struggle with injuries this season, Daniel Sturridge still remains England's best striker, ahead of in-form Tottenham forward Harry Kane. This is according to Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who looks to beat Spurs when they travel to Merseyside for Tuesday's Anfield clash.

Kane, who recently scored a brace against Arsenal to single-handedly win the north London derby for Tottenham, has registered 22 goals in all competitions this season, the most by any striker in the English Premier League.

Wenger is confident that the 21-year-old is on track to making the senior Three Lions squad, whilst La Liga giants Real Madrid are pondering a swoop for Kane, but Rodgers is adamant that at his best, none trump Sturridge.

"For me, there's not anyone better than Daniel Sturridge," the Liverpool boss stated.

"He's got everything in his game if he's playing consistently. His goalscoring record, his pace, his power ... he's got everything and, as an English striker, there's no-one better than him.

"But I'm sure Daniel will look at it that there's another young English striker coming through and that will really help him when they come together at international level."

Having only just returned from injury in the 2-0 win against West Ham, Sturridge looks set to start his first game since August, a prospect which has the Reds manager excited for his club's fortunes.

"It's a big boost for us because, when he's on the field, he gives the opponent's defence a real problem but also he's a natural goalscorer."

"He's got a big, big talent and he's obviously going to have to try and work his way back to fitness in games because there's so little time in between games to train."
