A victory would be a big boost for both the sides as they chase a place in the top four of the Premier League. Both the sides have been in good form in recent games and will be relishing the chance to face one another. Arsenal have won all of their last five matches in all competitions and will be hoping to continue their good run.
The Gunners faced Aston Villa last time out without their star man Alexis Sanchez but passed the test with flying colours scoring five times as German international Mesut Ozil put up a star performance. The World Cup winner provided a beautiful assist for Giroud's opener and then scored one himself to round off a spectacular display.
Spurs on the other hand suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, but have fared well otherwise. They were against West Brom in their last match, a game they won by a 3-0 score line thanks to double fire from star player Harry Kane who has now scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season.
The 21 year old has been widely acclaimed as the one of the most promising talents in the world of football and Arsene Wenger also praised the youngster.
"Kane was absolutely outstanding until now," Wenger said. "It is impressive the way he has made his way through and his personality shows on the pitch. He is one of the players that since the start of the season has made a big impact in the Premier League."
The Frenchman also highlighted the importance of the North London derby claiming that the result could have a strong influence on which team finishes in the top four by the end of the season.
"These are two teams fighting very hard to be at the top of the league and it can be a spectacular game," he said. "In the derby, the home ground is not too significant at times. It is high commitment, high pace and we just focus on the quality of our game and the quality of our performance, no matter where we play."
Arsenal will be without key players with Alexis Sanchez the most notable absentee. Whereas the Gunners will also be without the likes of Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere (both ankle), Mathieu Debuchy (shoulder) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (groin). However Danny Welbeck is poised to return to the squad but may have to settle for a place on the bench.
Pochettino on the other hand will have the luxury to choose from a fully fit squad but Togo international Adebayor is unlikely to line up against his former club having not played in the Premier League in three months.
