Chelsea vs Manchester City, a game highly anticipated by football fans across the globe, was an eagerly awaited clash between the English Premier League's top two sides in what was hailed as a title decider by many.
However, despite all the hype, the game proved to be not so entertaining. A Diego Costa-less Chelsea appeared keen on avoiding a defeat, whilst the Citizens were unable to translate their dominance with the possession into a victory, as both teams settled for a point in Saturday's 1-1 draw.
However, the match did enjoy a very interesting talking point; Frank Lampard's Stamford Bridge return.
The 36-year-old Englishman started on the bench, but after 77 minutes, he made his way onto the pitch, a ground which was his home for 13 glorious seasons. His introduction into the game met with some jeers and boos from the home crowd, and whilst some fans ignored Super Frank's entrance, opting on cheering on the club instead, others dished out a warm welcome for their former star midfielder.
After the final whistle had been blown, with most of the players having already made their way down the tunnel and into the dressing rooms, Chelsea's all-time record goalscorer remained on the pitch and waved one last farewell to the Blues faithful. This time around, the reception was warm and respectful.

In a post-match interview, Lampard admited to being nervous ahead of his return to Stamford Bridge, but took delight in the welcoming he received from the Chelsea fans.
“It was a bit of a strange day for me,” Lampard revealed. “I was excited but a bit nervous because of coming back here. As a player here you don’t even think about it but I knew this would be different. but I enjoyed it in the end.
“I was delighted with the reception from both sets of fans. Chelsea quite rightly get behind their side but they showed their class and I am very thankful for that.”
