Questions were raised about how much Real Madrid would miss Cristiano Ronaldo during his two-match ban. Today, Karim Benzema made the team's fans forget about the Portuguese striker with a brace, leading Los Blancos to a come-from-behind victory against Real Sociedad.
Karim Benzema's performance improved after the break, even after his involvement in the team's second goal. Gareth Bale dribbled inside Real Sociedad's box and set the Frenchman's first goal of the evening by just tapping it in. But Real Madrid's Number 9 saved the best for later.
When the clock hit the 76th minute mark, Benzema struck the ball outside the box and placed into the upper left-hand corner of Geronimo Rulli's net.
With his brace today, Karim Benzema equalized Ronaldo's tally of 87 goals playing for Los Blancos.
Real Madrid will keep leading La Liga one more week, disregarding what happens tomorrow between Barcelona and Villarreal. Find out what fans had to say about their team's most recent win!
Strong win without Ronaldo. Benzema carried the pack. Bravo #HalaMadrid
