Ivory Coast talisman has quashed any concerns over his fitness after he limped off in the victory over Cameroon. By the look of things, he will be available vs. Algeria on Feb 1st.

Manchester City and Ivory Coast talisman Yaya Toure was the latest victim of Stephane Mbia’s tough tackling as the Elephants beat the Indomitable Lions by a single goal to book their place at the quarter finals of Africa Cup of Nations 2015.

The City midfielder appeared to respond well to the treatment he received on the field but went down to the ground moments later, clutching his hamstring. Elephants coach Hervé Renard had to promptly sub Toure with Cheick Doukoure to prevent further damage.

Despite having appeared to be in a lot of pain as he limped off the pitch, Toure told reporters that he was okay after the game.

"There is no problem," said the City star as he boarded the IVC team bus.

Whether this was just a move to calm concerns among fans remains to be seen. What can not be questioned is how important the midfield maestro is to any hopes of Ivory Coast winning the AFCON trophy this year.
