The Portuguese striker saw a straight red card during last Saturday's match against Cordoba for kicking Brazilian defender Edimar.

Brazilian wingman Neymar shared his thoughts about Cristiano Ronaldo's red card this Saturday. While Barcelona's superstar understood CR7's behavior, he believes that such an action should not go unnoticed and the player should be banned, regardless of his name or the team he plays for.

"As strikers we are used to be provoked and intimidated, but sometimes you just feel you've had enough of it. Actions like the one where Cristiano was involved can happen, but they should not go unpunished. You can be provoked just like Zidane , but you have to work mentally to avoid such a situation," the Brazilian stated.

The former Santos player defended the Portuguese striker's action, but clearly added he is not supporting any violent conduct even if Real Madrid's Number 7 was put up to it.

"He cant' go unpunished. It's quite normal to be desperate when a defender is all over you for the entire game, but you have to keep your cool. I don't work for the Appeals Committee or anything, I don't like to talk about other teams, I just want to focus on my team's match against Atletico," the wingman added.

Barcelona will face Atletico next Wednesday in the second leg of their Copa del Rey matchup, with Los Culés ahead 1-0.
