The Spanish manager would like to wait until the season's end to extend his contract with the German champions.

Just before the Bundesliga season restarts, Bayern's Spanish coach Pep Guardiola stated he wants to wait until the end of the season to discuss a possible contract extension with the Bavarian club. Sources indicate the former Barcelona manager wants to see if the club can accomplish more trophies this season, so he can negotiate a better deal with his employers.

"We will have the time to talk about a contract extension when the season's over. Football nowadays changes by the minute, and it's not that good to plan ahead," Guardiola stated in a fan-oriented event.

Sources indicate that the Spanish manager would like to emulate his predecessor Jupp Heynckes, who won the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League in the same season, before he considers a negotiation.

After Bayern's president Karl-Heinz Rummenige stated that Guardiola could continue with the club as long as he wanted, Pep stated that coaching in Germany was an absolute honor for him, raising doubts about his future with the team.

"Whatever happens, I had the time of my life coaching here. I have been truly happy with the team, I could say it's been a dream come true," Guardiola added.

The coach's contract with the Bavarians ends in 2016, and if he can't reach an agreement with the team's executives, German newspapers have already rumored Joachim Löw would be the next Bayern Munich manager.
