Holland’s Ajax will have a big task to overcome on Tuesday, August 17. The Dutch side will play against Ukraine’s Dynamo Kyiv at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off tie.

Ajax Coach Martin Jol speaking at a press conference.Coach Martin Jol, who is currently subject to speculations regarding his managerial post with Ajax, declared his ambition ahead of his team’s match against Dynamo Kyiv. Hopeful about Ajax’s attacking opportunities, the manager stated:

“We will get Suarez back against Kyiv. He is a very important player.

"We will need to be more focused in defense, because if we concede two goals there [at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium], things will become really difficult.

“We want to progress, we want to try to give them a hard time. But, as always, we will still have to press for a goal ourselves.

“If you score away from home, if you score two goals, surely, the tie will be decided. We are used to pressure. If we weren’t, we would be in the wrong business.”

Talking about Dynamo Kyiv, their play maker Andriy Shevchenko also urged his side to score. He told uefa.com:

“We will be playing against a very skilful opponent. At this stage, there are no weak teams. Only the strongest will qualify for the group stages.

“In the first match at home, we have to keep a clean sheet. But the most important objective is to score.”
