Manchester City's fans may have found another reason to be mad at Manuel Pellegrini. The current Premier League champions failed to make it through the fourth round of the FA Cup by losing yet again to Middlesbrough. It's the fourth time 'Boro has eliminated the Citizens in this tournament, shocking Pellegrini's men at their very own Etihad Stadium.
It seemed like this game would be a walk in the park for the Citizens, since their starting lineup included such names like Sergio Agüero, Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva. But the opposition fought hard and kept a clean sheet after 45 minutes, forcing Pellegrini's men to make a bigger effort. When the game resumed, Patrick Bamford made the first goal after netting the ball past Willy Caballero, starting chaos for the home side. Manchester City tried to pull back, but Aitor Karanka's crew stood their ground and did not give their hosts any big chances to equalize. Even so, Middlesbrough looked closer to scoring a second goal than to conceding one.
When the game was entering stoppage time, Manchester City lost the ball and set the stage for a quick counter by Middlesbrough. Kolarov tried to stop Leadbitter any way he could, but the ball ended up at Kike's feet who placed it in th back of the net, making their fans go crazy behind the Argentinian's goal.
