Douglas Costa has encouraged Chelsea to keep negotiations going until he signs with the Premier League Team. Shakhtar won't let him go that easy.

Chelsea is on the move to fulfill the dream of 24-year-old Douglas Costa and call himself a “Blue”. Ukrainian club, Shakhtar Donetsk, the team he currently belongs to, has the last word in the process.

This Friday, Chelsea’s front office launched a second offer, this one worth £20m. In case this one also gets rejected, it shouldn’t be the end of the road.

Shakhtar front office initially turned down a £16 million offer from Chelsea. Shakhtar expects more from the English club who is also looking to reel Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado for its £27 million value.

According to "Transfermarkt", Costa’s value is £16.72 million. There has been speculation that his current club expects almost twice that amount.

“It’s a dream to play for Chelsea, a unique chance. I will try to negotiate,” Costa told Brazil’s Globo Esporte during his team’s current South American tour.

This is not the first time Costa is seen as a good fit for the Premier League. Ever since the Brazilian played for Gremio de Porto Alegre, Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in the midfielder. Shakhtar bought him in a £4.5m deal.

Since joining the Ukrainian side in 2010, Costa has played in 130 games while scoring 35 goals. Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk has won all league titles since his arrival.
