Reports in Italy claim that the Red Devils are prepared to break the British transfer record to bring back their former midfielder.

Given how he has quickly grown into one of the brightest young talents in the game, Manchester United surely must be regretting that decision to let Paul Pogba go.

Not only did they let the French international depart Old Trafford, but they did not even reap any benefits as Juventus were able to sign him on a free transfer in 2012.

Over the course of the past two and a half seasons, Pogba has firmly established himself in the starting XI of the Bianconeri first under Antonio Conte, and now under Massimiliano Allegri.

His all-action displays in the middle of the park, coupled with his long-range shooting ability have made him a fan favorite in Turin as his team aims to make it their fourth straight Scudetto and try their luck again in the Champions League.

Not surprisingly, though, this has put him on the radar of some of the continent's biggest clubs and Juventus are certainly aware that they will have a battle on their hands to keep him in Italy, despite apparently planning to bump his salary up to €4 million per season.

Although they recently had him sign a contract extension, la Vecchia Signora can by no means compete with the likes of Manchester United or Manchester City.

As per reports in Italy, the Red Devils are apparently preparing a massive €80 million offer to bring him back to Old Trafford. If true, this would smash the previously-established record set by Angel Di Maria when he moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United last summer.

Additionally, the same report claims he would make about €9 million per season, which is more than double what he would make in Turin even with his improved contract.
