The Dutch legend believes Toni Kroos should have been considered as a candidate, since the Portuguese player was not as dominant as people think.

Dutch legend, coach and executive Johan Cruyff blasted Cristiano Ronaldo's consecutive Ballon D'Or victories, since he believes the nomination should also consider the team's accomplishments for such a distinction.

"When you play against the best, everything is a combination of individual talent and accomplishments. It is ridiculous that, for the second straight year, FIFA gives this award to a player that did not perform correctly with his National Team or wasn't able to win every tournament he took part of," stated Cruyff in a Dutch newspaper.

Despite being heavily linked to Spanish ciub Barcelona, the three-time Ballon D'Or winner shared his thoughts about who he believed would have been a more fair winner, naming German midfielder and Ronaldo's team-mate with Real Madrid, Toni Kroos.

"Back in 2013, Cristiano Ronaldo won instead of Toni Kroos or any other Bayern player that won every single trophy they disputed. Last year, Toni was crucial for the German team's victory in the World Cup, and he was snubbed one more time. He wasn't even nominated when Cristiano was invisible during the World Cup, that's why I don't take this award too seriously," Cruyff added.
