Liverpool's coach also revealed Belgian striker Divock Origi may end up joining the team during this transfer window, despite being on loan with Lille.

Liverpool's coach Brendan Rodgers denied the possibility of Mario Balotelli's departure during this transfer window. The Reds' boss is aware that the performance of the Italian international has not been quite as expected, but he will keep trying to get the most out of the former Inter Milan and Manchester City striker.

"Mario is a really good guy. He hasn't scored the goals that he or we would have wanted, but we're determined to help him find the solution here. He certainly won't be going anywhere in January," Rodgers stated.

While the team's coach defended his antics on and off the pitch, Balotelli seemed quite calm at home playing video games. In fact, he even posted a video on Instagram where he imitated Cristiano Ronaldo's famous "SI!" yell.

After backing up Balotelli, Rodgers revealed Belgian striker Divock Origi might be joining the team during this transfer window. The 19-year old player was bought by the Reds after the 2014 World Cup, but was loaned to Lille on a season long deal. But if the French club refuses to break the deal, Rodgers will keep working with what he's got right now.

"He will certainly be here next summer, whether he’ll be here in January is something there’s been discussions but there’s nothing to report on so far. The agreement is with Lille for him to stay there and we’ll see how that works," the coach added.

Rodgers revealed Raheem Sterling will return with the team this Saturday after missing the games against Wimbledon and Sunderland.
