On Wednesday, it was for Group B teams to get underway on Matchday 2 of the competitions. Saudi Arabia kicked things off with a 4-1 trouncing of Korea DPR. It was a cruel way for the North Korans to lose the game as Ryan Yong-gi had opened the scoring first before the Green Falcons netted four time without reply. Ri Yong-jik's 75th minute red card effectively ended his side's chances of getting anything out of the game.
In the second match of the day, China defeated Uzbekistan 2-1. Once again, the team that first went behind ended up triumphing at the end of proceedings. Wu Xi and Sun Ke scored second half goals to cancel Ahmedov's opener for the White Wolves.
Ahead of Matchday 3, China lead Group B with a perfect record and have qualified for the next round. Saudi Arabia are second with 3 points. Uzbekistan are behind on goal difference. North Korea, meanwhile, are yet to register a point and are thus eliminated from the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
