Spurs have failed to build momentum following their emphatic 5-3 win over Chelsea on New Year's day having failed to record a victory in their two subsequent matches. Their FA Cup match against Burnley ended in a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor as Chadli and Vokes got on the score sheet for their respective sides.
This was followed by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace and Mauricio Pochettino's men will be looking to put things back on track by securing a qualification to the next round of the tournament with a win on Wednesday.

The Argentinean tactician while analyzing the match against Palace claimed that the penalty awarded to the opposition in the 69th minute changed the course of the game and that their counterparts wanted the win more than them.

"Maybe when we scored for 1-0 I think that we need to push a little bit more," Pochettino said.

"But in the end it is clear that the penalty changed the game. Maybe it wasn't a penalty, maybe it was – I don't know, we need to analyse on the TV.

"But this was the key moment that changed the energy in the stadium and on the pitch. After we suffered a little bit and Crystal Palace believed they could get the three points.

"There was a lot of long ball and, in this challenge, they won more than us. Maybe Crystal Palace pushed more than us, were more fresh than us – we have to analyse."

As a result of the defeat Tottenham failed to close down on the fourth spot and are currently in sixth place, three points shy of Man United.

"We are not happy, we are disappointed with the result," he added. "We missed a good opportunity to stay [in touch] with the top four."

Burnley on the other hand are undefeated in their last four game, however only one has resulted in a victory for the Clarets. They got the better of QPR in their last encounter as goals from Arfield  and Danny Ings in the first half secured all three points for Sean Dyche's side.

Erik Lamela and Ryan Mason are both unavailable for selection as far as Tottenham are concerned, whereas Nabil Bentaleb has left for the African Cup of Nations to represent Algeria. Burnely will continue to be without defenders Kevin Long (knee), Matthew Taylor (Achilles) and Stephen Ward (ankle), however they have no new injury concerns.
