Earlier today, Cristiano Ronaldo was crowned as the winner of the 2014 Ballon d'Or.
The Real Madrid star's win did not surprise many, and certainly delighted his legions of fans all over the world. For the second straight year, Barcelona ace Lionel Messi had to settle for second, while Manuel Neuer, the second consecutive Bayern player to be nominated, finished in third.
The joy of again beating out his rival was quite clear for the talismanic Portuguese attacker as he surprised--and amused--some with his reaction after clinching the much coveted prize.
While he was certainly emotional, last year was perhaps more subdued as he was not afraid to shed some tears on the podium. Not so much this year, which saw CR7 emit a sort of "war cry", and the man who handed him the award, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry did not seem amused one bit.

In fact, the retired French international, who recently concluded his MLS career with the NY Red Bulls, could barely crack a smile during the moment, and at some points, even looked quite downbeat as some have interpreted after watching this video.
Some felt that the Arsenal icon, who also played with nominee Lionel Messi at Barcelona, did seem too enthused when announcing the winner:

It is interesting to note that the two stars have played for opposing teams--Henry with Arsenal and Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo with Manchester United and Real Madrid.
And more important, despite his impressive exploits for club and country, Henry was quite unfortunate never to win the coveted prize himself during his glittering career.
