Cristiano Ronaldo's victory was backed by the votes of household names such as Gianluigi Buffon, Wayne Rooney, Vicente del Bosque and Iker Casillas.

After Cristiano Ronaldo's election as this year's Ballon D'Or winner, FIFA released the voting sheet including every registered vote during the process. Needless to say, neither did Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi voted for each other as captains of their National teams.

Cristiano Ronaldo's candidacy was supported by coaches such as Italian Antonio Conte, Vicente del Bosque, Didier Deschamps, Oscar Tabarez from Uruguay, Mexico's Miguel Herrera and his very own coach Fernando Santos, who voted him first. Brazil's coach Dunga voted him second and Dutch manager Guus Hiddink decided to vote him third. Others like Roy Hodgson and Argentina's boss Gerardo Martino snubbed the winner in favor of other players.

Lionel Messi was not favored this time by top bosses this year, and in the sample Livesoccertv chose, none of those who voted Cristiano Ronaldo in first place chose him in their top three candidates. Only Gerardo Martino gave him the first place honours, while Antonio Conte voted him second. Players such as Neymar voted for the Argentinian in first place, while other captains such as Bastian Schweinsteiger or Robin Van Persie left Barcelona's Number 10 out of their top three candidates.

As for both players, Cristiano Ronaldo voted for his team-mates Sergio Ramos (1st), Gareth Bale (2nd) and Karim Benzema(3rd), while the Argentinian elected Angel Di Maria(1st), Andres Iniesta(2nd) and Javier Mascherano(3rd).
