The Italian coach defended his colleague Luis Enrique after being criticized for benching Neymar and Lionel Messi in Barcelona's last match against Real Sociedad.

During his pre-match conference, Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti denied being happy about Barcelona's supposed crisis. "Carletto" made it clear he is focused on making Real Madrid a better team rather than worrying about someone else's problems.

"I'm not happy. Why should I be? I'm thinking about my team and our problems. I don't pay attention to whatever's happening over there. Every team at some point of the season faces adversities, I am sure what's happening in Barcelona will happen to other teams during the course of the season, we have to concentrate on our own problems," Ancelotti answered.

Regarding Luis Enrique's decision to bench Neymar and Lionel Messi in Barcelona's last match against Real Sociedad, Real Madrid's manager defended his colleague's right to do whatever he wants with his men, since he is the only one who knows the day-to-day status of each one of them.

"I don't know how Barcelona's players behave. Each coach has to make his own decisions, and I'm sure that Luis Enrique's choices were the right ones. He is entitled to make them as Barca's head coach, and whether you like it or not, it has to be respected," Ancelotti added.

Regarding their upcoming derby against Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti asks for his team to keep fighting until the last minute, and pointed out to Fernando Torres as the possible game-changer for Simeone's men.

"We can't back down, Atletico will force you to give your best every time you meet them, and this time it won't be any different. Fernando Torres has given so much to the team, and I'm sure he will be highly motivated tomorrow, being once more where he belongs," the Italian stated.
