The highly sought after French center back could seal a move to Stamford Bridge if the Blues meet Real Madrid's asking price.

Despite the lack of playing time handed to Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane this season, the young French center-back remains one of the most promising defenders out there in the world of football.

Only 21 yeas of age, Varane burst onto the scene with a string of commanding displays an the heart of Los Blancos' back line back in 2013 under Jose Mourinho's reign. Nowadays, he has found breaking into the starting eleven difficult, with Pepe and Sergio Ramos the club's preferred center-back partnership.

So, there must be little surprise as to why rumors are heavily linking Varane with a reunion with former coach Mourinho. Chelsea, alongside Manchester United, are both eying a swoop for the former Lens ace, as they move to further strengthen their defense.

What is flabbergasting, however, is the fact that Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Varane. As reported by Express, who cite sources out of Spain, the 10-time Champions League winner will be willing to let the Frenchman leave Santiago Bernabeu for £20m.

With Pepe set to be offered a new lucrative deal, the club are willing to ship off Varane to either the Blues or the Red Devils in order to make way for club-grown defender Nacho.
