Alongside the Atletico Madrid star, Manuel Pellegrini's side look to beat city rivals Man United to the signing of one of Juventus’ star players.

Given Manchester City’s financial power, it is never a surprise when the mega-rich club is linked with Europe’s finest.

With the defending English Premier League champions’ injury-plagued backline, and their current crisis in the attacking department, forcing them to use James Milner in a false nine position, the Citizens have been linked with moves for Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic during the course of this season.

However, the latest transfer rumor regarding Manuel Pellegrini’s crew is linking Manchester City with two of Europe's most highly-rated midfielders, Atletico Madrid ace Koke and Juventus star Paul Pogba, with Mundo Deportivo (per 101 Great Goals) reporting the Citizens are plotting a swoop for the Spanish and French midfielders.

Manchester City, who were struck with FFP (Financial Fair Play) restrictions over the summer, have been given the go ahead by UEFA to return to their spending ways. As stated in the report, the club’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain has scouted both Koke and Pogba when Los Rojiblancos and “The Old Lady” locked horns in the last game of the Champions League group stage.

With both players currently cup-tied, Manchester City is tipped with a move for Koke and Pogba in the summer.
