Pedro Pinto claims there was never a problem between the UEFA president and the Real Madrid superstar, whilst revealing more details surrounding the alleged snub at the Club World Cup final.

La Liga giants Real Madrid may not be happy with UEFA president Michel Platini, but according to the organization’s spokesman Pedro Pinto, there is no rift between Cristiano Ronaldo and the former Les Blues ace.

Rumors of animosity between the two emerged when Platini publicly revealed that he prefers to see a German player walk away this year’s Ballon d’Or prize, which will be handed out on January 12 in Zurich, due to die Mannschaft’s World Cup triumph.

With Ronaldo, Barcelona star Lionel Messi, and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer all in the running for the much coveted award, Los Blancos took offence at Platini’s remarks, warning the UEFA president to remain neutral.

The whole situation between Ronaldo and Platini garnered further attention when the Portugal captain appeared to snub Platini during Saturday’s FIFA Club World Cup finals, though pictures later revealed the two had shared greetings prior to the alleged snub.

"There was never any problem. Cristiano Ronaldo, before receiving the Silver Ball, had greeted Mr. Platini," Pinto told Diario de Noticias.

"When he returned to the stage to receive his medal with the rest of the team, Michel Platini was talking with Carlo Ancelotti, so Ronaldo passed him without acknowledging him.

"From our side, I can guarantee there is no controversy. I spoke with the president and he said he is sometimes sad to think people don't believe he likes Ronaldo."
