Winning trophies and scoring goals all season appears to have left the Real Madrid superstar sleepy.

Can you blame Cristiano Ronaldo for feeling a little bit sleepy?

Winning trophies and scoring goals all season in the manner the Portuguese star has done is not an easy feat, and can leave anyone feeling a tad tired.

On Sunday, the Portuguese ace returned to his home town of Madeira as the world awaited the statue unveiling ceremony of the 29-year-old former Manchester United attacker.

Presumably an unforgettable moment for Ronaldo, the Blancos man struggled to remain awake during portions of the ceremony, and was actually caught on camera dozing off for a moment at one stage, before he quickly shook himself back awake, avoiding any huge embarrassment.

Maybe the ceremony was just that boring? Watch the incident in the video below.

This comes a day after Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup triumph in Morocco, where Carlo Ancelotti’s crew beat San Lorenzo 2-0 in the final to clinch the trophy, with Ronaldo receiving the tournament's adidas Silver Ball award, as Les Merengues ended the 2014 calendar year on a high note.
