Arsenal will face Liverpool in their 17th fixture of the 2014-15 Barclays Premier League on the 21st of December. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Liverpool vs Arsenal below.

The blockbuster fixture for this weekend will see Arsenal taking on Liverpool in a Premier League encounter. The two sides challenged for the title for lengthy periods last season but have struggled to make much of an impression this time.

The Gunners suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Stoke two weeks back but have made a response by picking up consecutive 4-1 wins. Their victory over Turkish side Galatasaray in the Champions League was followed by a drubbing of Newcastle United by the same score line. French striker Olivier Giroud and Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla impressed in the match, scoring twice each to give the Gunners a 4-1 victory.

The fixture last season resulted in Arsenal suffering one of their most humiliating defeats in the Premier League era. The Liverpool frontline ran the Arsenal defence ragged when the two sides met at the Anfield last season giving the Gunners a 5-1 thumping.

Raheem Sterling who produced a star performance during that match is expected to continue leading the line for the Reds like he did in the matches against Manchester United and Bournemouth. The youngster failed to produce the goods against the Red Devils missing some glorious chances but made his presence felt in the league cup encounter against Bournemouth, scoring twice to give his side a 3-1 win.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers praised his young star likening his new role to that of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

"He can play across the front line," he said. "His best position is on the left, dipping inside, making runs in behind, creating one vs. ones. I put him in the position because I believe he can play in it. He played there in the youth team at Liverpool and he has the quality to do it.

"He is, as you can see, happy and enjoying his football. At Old Trafford he was unfortunate not to score and in that role he plays you think of Alexis Sanchez when he plays for Arsenal."

"He is not an out-and-out striker but his speed in front of the back four and behind them causes problems and you've seen that with him here, he can get it, turn and go at defenders.

"He has been like that all season and been a real catalyst for us."

Liverpool will be hoping for a swift response after their last Premier League outing against Manchester United resulted in a 3-0 defeat. The Reds however have not enjoyed much luck against their opponents on Sunday in recent times, having managed just two victories in their last 14 Premier League meetings with the Gunners.

Arsenal on the other hand will be looking for their third straight victories in all competitions but will continue to be without Captain Mikel Arteta, defender Laurent Koscielny as well as playmaker Mesut Ozil. Chamberlain has also been declared a doubt for the match, but Theo Walcott is expected to feature.
