Real Madrid's legendary player believes the team should be cautious when facing the German side, even if they defeated them in the same round last year.

Real Madrid's Public Relations President Emilio Butragueño reacted to his team's UEFA Champions League draw, where Los Blancos will be facing Schalke 04. Despite their victory against the German side last year in the same instance, "El Buitre" dismissed the team will take on this match lightly, since they know their opponents will be really hard to beat.

"We are moderately optimistic. Last year's experience was great for us, since we practically finished the series in the first leg. But we think this time around it will be different, they are a very competitive side, with truly loyal fans that will support them the entire game. We will try to get a good result in Germany and finish the series in style at home," Butragueño stated.

Real Madrid won the first leg of their series against Schalke 6-1, adding three more goals to their tally on the second leg, held at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Butragueño knows that Los Blancos are labeled as the favorite team to go on, but he remains cautious so there won't be any surprises.

"We have to show maximum respect for them. It's true that there were tougher teams we could have faced, but this is football, and if you don't remain focused for the entire game, it only takes ten seconds  to throw everything away.  Since we've been there before, we must remain calm and don't take anything for granted. During those 90 minutes playing at their stadium, everything can happen," Butragueño added.
