The former Barcelona goalkeeper was rumored to join Manchester United during the upcoming transfer window, but the idea of re-joining his former team-mate may shift his course to Latin America.

Mexican club Queretaro, who signed Ronaldinho during the month of September, would now be interested in signing Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes. The former Barcelona shot-stopper has been training with Manchester United since October, but he hasn't agreed to a contract with any team until now.

According to sources, the Mexican club's owner, Olegario Vazquez, travelled this week to Manchester to negotiate Valdes's contract. Los Gallos would be interested in signing the 32-year old keeper since their current shot-stopper, Edgar Hernandez, does not have his coach's confidence. The owner's purpose is to make Queretaro a title contender next season, since they were unable to qualify to the ongoing Apertura 2014 playoffs even with Ronaldinho in the payroll.

Valdes came down with an injury to his knee in March, and could not fight for a spot in Spain's squad for the recent Wolrld Cup in Brazil. Valdes was about to end his contract with Barcelona and apparently he had signed with French club Monaco, but after failing medical tests, the club denied their intention to add him to their squad.

After the summer transfer season was over, Valdes was rumored to be joining Liverpool, but Brendan Rodgers denied any agreement and the player has been training with Manchester United, given his great relationship with Louis Van Gaal.
