The veteran midfielder has yet to decide on his future at Anfield beyond this season.

What a difference a few months can make.

Just this past May, Liverpool were close to winning their first Premier League title in decades, only to see it slip away. Although the Reds had to settle for second behind Manchester City, they nonetheless secured Champions League football for the first time in the past couple of seasons.

This season, however, has not been as kind to Brendan Rodgers' men as they have struggled to maintain their place in the top four, let alone, at times, the top half of the table.

Fans have made their frustrations known, and captain Steven Gerrard is not immune from criticism. And the English star, whose contract will expire next year, has not entirely committed his future to Anfield, either.

When asked about this, the 34-year-old stated:

"I'll decide when I'm ready. There's nothing to say on the contract at the moment...when there is - the fans have known me long enough - I'll come out and I'll say what I need to say."
