The German striker stated that if Cristiano Ronaldo won the award, things would turn a little bit boring, since he was given the trophy last year.

Thomas Müller voiced his thoughts about this year's Ballon D'Or nominees. The German striker, who was one of the favorites to make the top three, ignores why the election committee chose Lionel Messi instead of a German player or his Bayern colleague Arjen Robben.

"Easily, there could be someone else taking Messi's place. For example, Arjen Robben played wonderfully, and if not him, there were other players among the German National team that deserved to be there more than him," Müller stated.

After blasting the Argentinian's nomination, Müller made it clear that he would like Manuel Neuer to take the prize home, since giving the trophy to Cristiano Ronaldo would make the ceremony a bit dull.

"What Neuer's got working for him is that he had a major role in our World Cup victory, where he had amazing performances. If they decide to give the trophy to Cristiano Ronaldo, then the ceremony would be really boring, it would be a replay from last year. Although, I know that he deserves to be there because he won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid," Müller added.

Müller also voiced his opinion about Borussia Dortmund's disappointing season, revealing he does not want them to hold the Bundesliga's last place.

"When it started to happen, I thought it was positive for us, but as weeks go by, you wish they were doing better. I hope they can bounce back, it would be tremendously important for German football," the striker concluded.
