TSN Kicks Off the Countdown to the Biggest Women’s Tournament in Sport with the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW, December 6 at 12 noon ET

TSN, an official broadcaster of FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP CANADA 2015™, kicks off the six-month countdown to the tournament with live coverage of the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW (#WWCDraw2015) on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 12 noon ET from the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Que.

The FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW is also available to TSN subscribers for live streaming and on demand viewing through TSN GO. Viewers can also watch the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW in French on RDS.

TSN Radio stations across the country will complement TSN’s broadcast coverage with reports on the results.

The FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW determines the tournament’s group stage opponents and round-robin schedule, which kicks off Saturday, June 6 in Edmonton and culminates with the championship on Sunday, July 5 in Vancouver. The FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP CANADA 2015™ will be broadcast live on CTV, TSN, and RDS.

TSN’s James Duthie and Jennifer Hedgerhost the network’s broadcast coverage from Gatineau alongside soccer analysts Jason deVos and Kara Lang. SPORTSCENTRE’s Sheri Forde is on-site to report from the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW.

Duthie, Hedger, deVos, Lang, and Forde all closely followed Canada’s women’s national team throughout their thrilling, hard-fought journey to a bronze medal finish at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Duthie and Hedger hosted in-studio coverage in London, while Lang provided analysis on Canada’s women’s national team. Forde reported from the stadium sidelines throughout the team’s captivating performances.

deVos, a member of the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and one of Canada’s most accomplished players, provided colour commentary as 3.7 million Canadians watched the national women’s soccer team take on the United States in the dramatic semifinal game. He also provided analysis during the team’s bronze medal match against France.

Lang is one of the most well-known names in Canadian soccer.  At 15, she was the youngest female to ever play a game with Canada’s women’s national soccer team and went on to have a successful career before officially retiring last year.

Broadcast Schedule

Three different BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE matches lead into the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ OFFICIAL DRAW, with pre-game coverage of Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace (TSN1), Hull vs. West Brom (TSN3), and Liverpool vs. Sunderland (TSN4) beginning on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. ET followed by the matches at 10 a.m. ET.

Following the one-hour draw, TSN delivers 30 minutes of post-draw discussion and analysis at 1 p.m. ET, including breaking down Canada’s group, a look at the Group of Death, and interviews with coaches, players and tournament ambassadors in Gatineau, among them Canada’s women’s national team coach John Herdman and captain Christine Sinclair, two-time Olympic gold medallist Catriona Le May Doan and five-time Paralympian Chantal Petitclerc.
