The German midfielder will donate the entirety of the auction to a foundation, which remains the same since the game was played.

Perhaps one of a footballers most appreciated valuable is the one that made him accomplish something great. For German midfielder Mario Gotze, that kind of item can help others, and he is ready to part from them to do so.

Earlier today, Germany's hero in the last World Cup final, revealed today he will auction the shoe he wore during the game against Argentina, in which he eventually scored the goal that gave his country the championship. Götze revealed that his cleats remain untouched since the final whistle of that historical match, and he wants to help someone by giving away what the bidders pay to get his footwear.

"I never washed them after the game. I left them just the way they were after the final match in Rio de Janeiro. There's still grass from the pitch stuck to them, I've never worn them after that game," the German revealed during an interview.

The auction house is yet to be determined by the footballer.
