The club from the north managed to get an away goal, which could give them certain advantage against a team that historically complicates things for them playing at 'El Volcán'.

One of Mexico's favorite sides to hoist the Apertura 2014 trophy are without a doubt, those who call themselves Los Tigres. The northern side showed great team skills against Pachuca during the first leg of their quarterfinal series, but were not able to hold the lead after a late own goal by Hugo Ayala. Now, Ricardo Ferreti's crew will have to exorcize their demons against a team that usually gives them a hard time when it comes to playing Liguilla at Estadio Universitario.

These two teams have met previously three times in the Mexican Liguilla. When Tigres see Pachuca on the horizon, they have to remember those two finals lost while playing at their home turf. First, Pachuca won in 2001 with a magnificent strike by Walter Silvani, who took a shot almost from the half of the pitch to beat Tigres' keeper Oscar Dautt. Then, in 2003, the late Miguel Calero pulled an amazing performance to help Los Tuzos win their third championship in four years.

During their last playoff meeting, Tigres managed to get some revenge against the Hidalgo-based team, beating them in both games of their Apertura 2011 matchup. Those who support Tigres say that, if their team does not lose the first match against Pachuca, then they will make it through the next round.

This will be a dynamic match to watch, with Tigres relying on elusive players such as Joffre Guerrón, Darío Burbano and Damian Alvarez. For Pachuca, newcomers Jurgen Damm and Hirving Lozano could make this a not so easy game for the northern side. Striker Ariel Nahuelpan will have to play one of his best games for Los Tuzos if they want to pull a stunner on Ricardo Ferreti's men.

If Tigres want to get to the semifinals, then they must either win the game or draw the match with a 1-1 result. If Pachuca manage to get more than one goal, then Tigres will need the win, since the away goals rule would benefit Los Tuzos.
