Bastia's striker was sentenced by the Correctional Court of Paris, three months after head-butting PSG's Thiago Motta.

The Correctional Court of Paris sentenced today Brazilian striker Brandao to serve one month in jail and to pay a fine of 20,000 euros, following an incident in August with Italian midfielder Thiago Motta, where the goal scorer head-butted Motta when he was heading into the locker rooms.

The verdict will not substitute the sanction imposed by Ligue 1's governing body, which banned the player for six months. Furthermore, the player's lawyers revealed the player will not present an appeal and will comply with his punishment. Nevertheless, the player could benefit from an agreement that would prevent him to spend time in prison, paying his debt with the authorities through community work.

On August 16, the 34-year old striker was red carded during the game between PSG and Bastia, after an argument with Motta. When the game ended, Brandao waited for Motta before he entered the team's locker room, head-butting him and going inside the visitor's clubhouse.

Watch Brandao's head-butt that will cause him to serve jail time.
