He's finally done it! Lionel Messi broke Raul's UEFA Champions League record today against APOEL Nicosia. The Argentinian has scored 72 goals with Barcelona in the European competition, and managed to beat Cristiano Ronaldo in their particular record-breaking feud.

Messi managed to score the second goal for Barcelona against the Cypriot side, eighteen minutes after Luis Suarez scored his first with los Blaugranas. Messi passed the ball to Rafinha and went inside the box, taking advantage of a through ball by the Braziliand defender. Then, Messi sticked out his right foot to accomplish the feat.

During the second half of the match, Messi managed to score a couple more to bring up his tally to 74 goals. Now, Barcelona's superstar will have one more battle with Cristiano Ronaldo to see who ends up racking more goals in this UEFA Champions League edition.
