The Italian coach explained why Khedira and Pepe stayed in Madrid, hinting Asier Illarramendi could be back playing a few minutes with Los Blancos.

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti dismissed the possibility of rotating his team against Basel, since both teams need the three points to meet their respective goals. For Real Madrid's manager, tomorrow's game will be as hard as any, given Basel's need of a victory.

"It's going to be a good match, full of intensity. I've still got a few doubts about the team, but it will not change that much from what you saw against Eibar. The only ones that have got me worried are our wing backs, because they seem a little tired, but that's it," Ancelotti stated.

The Italian manager revealed why Pepe and Sami Khedira were not included in Real Madrid's expedition to Switzerland, while he shared his thoughts on Asier Illarramendi's current form.

"Khedira complained about a minor pain in his hip, so we decided to rest him along with Pepe. We need them to be ready for the next game. Illarra is going to play because he is fit to do so, he just recovered from an injury, and I don't know how many minutes he will be on the pitch, but surely he will take part of the game tomorrow," the coach added.

Finally, Ancelotti revealed he is not negotiating a contract extension right now with Los Blancos, given that his current commitment ends in 2016, and this would not be a suitable time to take care of that matter.
