Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has proved he can take huge responsibilities. After benching Petr Cech, the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper revealed he had a hard time deciding to play for his current club, but in the end, he decided to move to England because it was time for him to make a change.
"The first two years over there were great, and Chelsea wanted me back. But after the third year, I noticed that I had accomplished almost everything I wanted, so I decided it was time to move on. When you win La Liga and get to a Champions League final, then you have to weigh your chances and decide what's next," the Belgian keeper stated.
Courtois expressed his thoughts about what he feels are the differences between Diego Simeone's crew and his new team, coached by Jose Mourinho.
"We had a great group, and we had really talented players. But I can see more talent in Chelsea's lineup. This is also a strong team, but you have more players that can give you something different," Courtois added.
Finally, Courtois had nothing but praises for Diego Simeone and his current coach, Jose Mourinho, a pair that he believes have the same coaching style.
"Jose is a real motivator. He urges you to fight, to give everything for the team. He likes to blend in with us, he's just like any other guy in the team, he even jokes around. Diego Simeone used to be like that, he knew how to motivate you because of all the experiences he had as a player. Both of them know when to motivate you and when to be strict," the keeper concluded.
