Las Aguilas will battle Atlas in the last game of the regular season, trying to secure the first place in the Apertura 2014 tournament

Club America are ready for the next challenge. Coach Antonio Mohamed stated today his team is ready for the Mexican playoffs, and will fight toe to toe for the championship. Being the league's leader for most of the tournament, the Argentinian coach feels it's an obligation for them to earn the team's 12th title.

"We have to close the regular season with a win, that would be a great way to start the playoffs. The team struggled to keep its shape, since we've had our playoff spot secure for two months now. Our goal right now is to confirm that we are worthy of being considered the favorite for the title, and next Saturday against Atlas is a golden opportunity for us," Mohamed stated in a press conference.

Despite not being able to win their last match against Toluca, America's boss believes the team will perform accordingly in the upcoming playoffs, since they will have every player available after the International break.

"These break was wonderful for us. We did not have many players called up, which gave us a chance to work with almost the entire team. This team's goal has to be the title, and with everyone ready to play, we will be a tough competitor for anyone," the Argentinian added.

Finally, after some rumors earlier in the week that the club would be looking to replace Mexican international Miguel Layun, Mohamed stated they are always scouting players, but that doesn't mean they are thinking about any immediate changes.

"We have a spot on our roster for a foreign player. If Miguel is hired by a European team, then we would have some options there. That's it, we are just covering our back so that we don't end up lacking someone in that position," the coach ended.
