No, this is not a joke. The international break has claimed it's fourth Red Devils victim.

With their highly-anticipated clash with north London side Arsenal fast approaching, this is probably the worse news Manchester United fans could hear.

The way the Red Devils have been losing players to injury in this international break has been scary, bordering on frightening, to say the least.

First, Michael Carrick came down with a groin problem whilst away with the Three Lions. Then Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea dislocated a finger during a La Furia Roja training session, and could miss the trip to the Emirates.

On Sunday, the Red Devils' £14m summer signing Daley Blind suffered a ligament injury during a Euro 2016 qualifier clash with Latvia, with a four to six week sideline for the former Ajax man expected.

Now Argentine superstar and record British signing Angel Di Maria is a doubt for Saturday's mouth-watering fixture.

The 26-year-old La Albiceleste ace took part in his nation's friendly with Portugal at Old Trafford, and was on the receiving end of a serious challenge on the foot from Portuguese attacker Nani.

Continuing on until the 61st minute after receiving treatment, Di Maria lost skin and experienced swelling after his run-in with the Sporting Lisbon ace, on loan from Manchester United.

"We don't think it is anything serious," Argentina coach Gerardo Martino confessed after the 1-0 loss to Portugal. "It was quite a tough blow he took. It was a tough knock. It cut the skin a little bit.

"We are having a look at some X-rays, some images that have been taken but in spite of that we don't think it is too serious."

Martino revealed that the former Real Madrid man will undergo x-Rays, claiming to be "evaluating the situation".

Di Maria, after the final whistle, expressed hope of making the Arsenal tie, stating: "It was just a blow. I hope it doesn't swell anymore so I can play at the weekend."
