The Argentinian manager has been linked all season to top European clubs like Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain, but he's got no intention of moving.

Despite of rumors every week that place him coaching in France or England, coach Diego Simeone still wants to lead Atletico Madrid, since he believes this club has a lot more to accomplish with their current squad.

"I keep working with the thought in my mind that I could be sacked tomorrow, because it keeps me focused. It's the first time I've lasted this long coaching the same team, and I'm quite happy about it because Atletico is a club that's got a place in my heart," Simeone stated.

With the departure of such players like Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois, some expected that the club would not be able to repeat last year's performance. With that on his mind, Simeone believes there's more for this team both short-term and long-term.

"We are still looking to make ourselves better. The only challenge I've got right now is putting together a team that can compete, and we are doing it correctly. I know last year will be remembered forever in this club's history, but this year things will be different. I am aware that it benefits some people to compare last year's squad with this one, but it's not possible to compare because things are not the same. Our primary goal is to keep the team fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot, and that will be the first thing we'll do. Where we can go from there, that's yet to be seen. If we can repeat what we accomplished last year after ten of our players left, then we will have succeeded," Simeone added.

Finally, Simeone clarified his situation with the Spanish champion, since he has no intention to leave.

"Right now, I'm happy here. I have not rejected any offers," Simeone concluded.
