Watch one of world football’s biggest rivalries at the international level in the form of Scotland vs England on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

Last Saturday at Wembley, England maintained their perfect record in Group E by beating Slovenia 3-1 despite falling behind due to a Jordan Henderson own goal in the 58th minute. Skipper Wayne Rooney equalized from the penalty spot a minute before the hour mark, celebrating his 100th England cap in style. Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck hit a brace shortly after to seal the win.

In Glasgow, Scotland also won their Euro 2016 qualifying match last week. A lone goal by Shaun Maloney made the difference against Group D contenders Ireland.

It would be a massive achievement for the Scots to qualify into the finals. The last time they made an appearance was 18 years ago when England hosted Euro 1996. Today, they are in a flattering position with seven points like both the Irish and reigning world champions Germany. Poland are in pole position with 10 points in the table.

Their UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying campaign will only resume in March 2015 against minnows Gibraltar. While that date is still far, Tuesday’s friendly match against the Three Lions will offer Scotland an excellent test at an excellent time.

The hosts at Celtic Park must expect Roy Hodgson to pick a strong line-up at the exception of Leighton Baines and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart who will be rested. In his exclusive column on The Independent, retired footballer and manager Terry Venables noted:

“This Scotland team has been on a great run under Gordon Strachan. They have been doing remarkably well. You can tell that the rivalry is brewing up again.

“Scotland are waiting for England, no matter how well England have been doing recently. They will be absolutely at it at Celtic Park on Tuesday night, and the atmosphere will be terrific. England will have to be on their guard from the start.”

Take your seat from the start as well and don't miss the match.
