Joachim Löw decided the goalkeeper did not have to return with his National team after their victory against Gibraltar with a 4-0 score.

Germany's goalkeeper and Ballon D'Or contender Manuel Neuer will not take part of his National Team's next match against Spain, after coming down with an injury to his knee during the Mannschaft's victory against Gibraltar on Friday.

The German Football Federation (DFB) informed via a press release the Bayern Munich shot stopper will not take part of the friendly match against Spain this Tuesday, stating Neuer left the hotel were the team was staying. Coach Joachim Löw confirmed the news earlier today.

"He wanted to play against them, but we have to be careful. We want Manuel to get some rest. He's given so much to us, we believe he has earned it," Löw stated.

However, Löw did not reveal who will take Neuer's spot defending the World Champions posts.

"Both Roman Weidenfeller and Ron-Robert Zieler are excellent alternatives, but we will make a decision based on what we can see in this days," Löw added.

The Germans will travel to Vigo shortly to end their International matches this year, after winning the 2014 World Cup.
