According to several sources, Laporta had lunch with agent Jorge Mendes, who would help him put together a project to win the Blaugranas presidency.

It seems Joan Laporta's intention of having a new term as Barcelona's President may be taking shape. Sources indicate the president met with agent Jorge Mendes to put together a project that ends up with Laporta calling the shots at Camp Nou.

During this meeting, sources have said the first topics on the table were Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Real Madrid, which Mendes handles. The Portuguese agent would have told Laporta not to go there, since his transfer fee is "impossible to pay."

After talking about CR7, Laporta's sights moved towards England. The pair talked about Jose Mourinho, who has stated he feels happy coaching Chelsea. But this would not be the first attempt to have "The Special One" coaching Barcelona, since Laporta and Mendes negotiated the Portuguese manager's contract back in 2008, but they could not reach an agreement, leading to Pep Guardiola's signing.

Laporta's possible comeback to Can Barca has not gone unnoticed for some Blaugranas. For example, former player and coach Johan Cruyff stated he doesn't believe the Portuguese player and coach could end up playing with Barcelona, but Laporta's comeback could benefit the team.

"I don't imagine that Laporta would bring in 'Mou' and Cristiano. This sport is a game which holds many possibilities, but in this case they are unlikely to be feasible. You have to respect his decision if he presents himself as a candidate. His second term can be good, but you never know," Cruyff stated.

Other possibilities discussed by Laporta and Mendes would have included Valencia's coach Nuno Espiritu Santo and Jurgen Klopp.
