Angel Di Maria showed how ashamed he is for Machester United's performance this year. The former Real Madrid player felt the need to return an expensive car, which was a gift from the club's main sponsor.
Di Maria became the Premier League's most expensive transfer of all time when Manchester United payed 80 million pounds to Real Madrid this summer. Even though Di Maria's performance has not been as bad as one would believe, the player born in Rosario gave back the expensive vehicle, which is valued in more than $100, 000 dollars. The Red Devils' number 7 stated he felt no one in the club were worthy of such a gift, and in good conscience, he chose to return it.
Manchester United's season so far has been rather disappointing. After being one of the most active clubs during the recent transfer season, signing Di Maria, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao, the club has only managed to win sixteen points in eleven matches, losing to inferior opponents such as Leicester City and Swansea City.
