Coach Mohamed confirmed he won't have one of his star players for their crucial match against Atlas, where the first place of the Mexican Apertura will be at stake.

Despite having time to recover from an injury, coach Antonio Mohamed will not be able to start his captain Rubens Sambueza against Atlas next week. The Argentinian-born player has been struggling all year with several injuries, and this one will sideline him from a rather important game.

"We will rest Rubens even if he is fit to play. We want him 100% percent recovered for the first playoff game, and we won't risk him one more time. This break comes in handy so we can recover players such as Miguel Layun, who came down with an injury to his right arm," the coach stated.

America's coach will have time to adjust some things that have not worked recently for his team, since they have not been able to win in their last three matches.

"Pablo Aguilar and Michael Arroyo will not travel with their National Teams, so we can work on some new tactics facing the playoffs. We want everyone to be fit to play those games, and we will try to make a difference with what we work on this weeks," the Argentinian coach stated.

America hold the first place in Mexico's Apertura tournament with 31 points.
