Japan vs Honduras will be a featured in a friendly match on Friday, the 14th of November at the Toyota Stadium.

AC Milan forward forward Keisuke Honda as well as Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa were named in Japan's 23 men squad which is scheduled to play friendly matches against Honduras and Australia. The two superstars are joined by veterans Yasuhito Endo, Atsuto Uchida and Yasuyuki Konno who have all been recalled to the team following the Asian side's dismal performance against Brazil. The 23 men squad also comprises of Mainz striker Shinji Okazaki as well as Frankfurt midfielder Makoto Hasebe to add experience to the squad.

Head coach Javier Aguirre has not had the best of runs as manager of Japan having managed just a single win so far which came against Jamaica last month as a result of an own goal. Friday's encounter as well as their clash against Australia four days later will provide the Samurai Blue with an excellent opportunity to get in good shape before the Asian Cup which kicks off on the 9th of January in Australia.

Honduras on the other hand have been on a disappointing run having suffered defeat in three of their last five matches. However they are likely to be in a buoyant mood after picking a 1-1 draw against USA last time out. Jozy Altidore scored for the home side in the opening minutes to give them the lead and USA were seemingly heading for the win until a 86th minute goal from Figueroa who leveled the scores in the dying moments.

Japan and Honduras have only once met before, this was back in September 2005 when a high scoring match ended in favor of Japan as they picked up a 5-4 victory.
