The Juventus star, who is set to make his first appearance for the Argentine national team in three years, was full of praise for the Albiceleste captain and Barcelona ace

Juventus attacker Carlos Tevez has expressed his delight in receiving a call-up to the Argentine National Team by new coach Gerardo Martino, which will be his first appearance for La Albiceleste in three years.

A regular in the national team prior to Aejandro Sabella's arrival, the appointment of the 60-year-old manager, who led the two-time World Cup champions to the 2014 final in the famous Maracana Stadium, saw the 30-year-old former Manchester City attacker frozen out of the national team setup, being left behind for the tournament in Brazil.

But now, with Argentina set to face Croatia in a friendly in London, on Wednesday, before taking on Portugal, lead by Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford on November 18, "The Old Lady" forward insists now is the best time for him to make his return to the national team.

Tevez also could not hold back the joy of taking to the field alongside four-time Ballon d'Or winner and compatriot Lionel Messi, claiming it to be “the greatest pleasure a player can have”.

"I want to play with Messi, he is No.1 ," Tevez said.

"Messi is the world's number one, and I think I have been saying this for a long time. Playing with him is the greatest pleasure a player can have. When I saw him at a publicity event recently, we talked about a lot of things, for an hour and a half.

"Now is the appropriate time to return to the national team and at this point in my career I consider a return important. I'm fine, and I'm happy for the goals I'm scoring.

"In the past, when I was a member of the national team I did not realise what it meant, but now I understand how important it is."
