Despite his disappointing form, the Liverpool attacker will still have a chance to display his skills on the international stage.

Although he has not been a hit since arriving at Anfield, Mario Balotelli has been given a chance to redeem himself.

Despite new Azzurri boss Antonio Conte previously choosing to omit him from his squad due to his disappointing performances with Liverpool, the former Juventus coach appears to have had a change of heart and has included the 24-year-old in his squad for their upcoming match vs. Croatia.

Italy have won their past three UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers but sit behind their upcoming opponents on goal difference due to the Croatians having scored nine goals in their treble of matches. Meanwhile, in terms of goals, only two have been from strikers, with Southampton's Graziano Pelle making the difference against Malta on his debut while Sassuolo's Simone Zaza got the team's first against Norway.

But given the three other goals were from defenders--Juventus duo Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini--Conte perhaps is looking to sharpen their attacking options as they face what will be their toughest opponent in their group this Sunday.

The list of names Antonio Conte opted to call up for the Azzurri's upcoming matches:

Another name that was not previously included is Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy, with the 22-year-old finally getting his first goal after an injury ravaged 2013/2014 season this past weekend.

Liverpool fans will likely hope that the return to the international fold will help to improve Balotelli's confidence and overall showings for the Reds in their domestic and continental campaigns.
