With next weekend's Premier League match against Chelsea on their mind, Liverpool put little effort into this game, hoping they can seal their next round spot in their upcoming matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo was expected to reach Raul's record of 71 goals in the European competition, but the Portuguese superstar had almost no chances to increase his scoring streak. This was the first time in the last eleven matches Ronaldo was not able to score for Real Madrid, as his assault to the all-time scoring record will have to wait one more game.
